LIVE APPEARANCE AND PERFORMANCE STRATEGIES FOR MUSIC ARTISTS

This workshop is about performing, professional appearances as an artist:

Live Stage Performances, Singles, EP Releases, Videos(VIEWSIC), Social Media Posts

Art is about making people feel something.

You enrolled in this program to learn and grow, some are more advanced than others. But, very often we look outward to find answers, and I believe it is a bit of both examining your work thus far and having access on how to get better. As a contemporary artist you will always be growing and changing with the times both within the music industry itself and within your own development in life. Balancing both is key. I want you to try and define what is your Artist and Musical Signature. Who are the artist you love and why? Because as we brand for marketing, we also must understand what our artistry is when writing, singing, creating and performing. And just like an art exhibit in a museum, each of your EPs is like a series of paintings or sculptures or installation pieces you feel strongly enough about to share with the world. So, let’s begin with a getting a pen and a paper and answering the following questions.

SELF-ASSESSMENT What do you feel good about and what you believe needs to be improved upon?

Your Strengths and Weaknesses.

  • Voice

  • Songs

  • Showmanship

  • ArtisticIdentity

  • Do you know what sets you apart from everyone else? Music, artist look, message?

  • What do you think is unique about you and your musical presence? Is the color/tone of your voice, the style of song, your stage persona?

  • How do you want your audience to feel after seeing your show and hearing your music? What do you want them to take away?

  • How many shows have you done?

  • How much stage time do you have?

  • And how comfortable are you on stage? A Bit of Stage Fright, Depends on the night. I am a seasoned performer.

  • Where are you in your journey as an artist?

  • If asked how would you describe yourself as an artist? Making Your Mark in Music Anika Paris © 2021

PERFORMANCE STRATEGIES

We perform every day in life, first impressions are important, knowing yourself is a huge part of your artistry so let’s start with the following.

Bringing your best on stage.
How can we take our best personality traits with us into our musical performances? Where do we fit in?
Can we carve our own path from multiple influences?
